I first became interested in this rare and very special breed in 2006 after doing considerable research. I can honestly say that no amount of research could have prepared me for the sense of pride and enjoyment I have derived from being the owner of an Entlebucher.
Over a two year period, I took the necessary steps to establish Riverwest Entlebuchers. At my side the whole time, is my beautiful four-year old Entlebucher, Moratel Westriver Santé, more commonly referred to as Santé. On the bank of the West River, Santé enjoys the company of standardbred horses, cats, dogs, and of course, people. At Riverwest, Entlebuchers enjoy a safe and natural environment, that includes a large fenced area as well as open pastures that provide excellent opportunities for various activities, such as carting, agility, playing ball and training.
Riverwest provides a safe and natural environment for all pets. It includes a large fenced area, as well as, open pastures that provide excellent opportunities for various activities, such as carting, agility, playing ball and training. The property is also in close proximity to beaches, hiking, skiing, and biking trails, all of which contribute to the well-being and contentmentt of Entlebuchers and the people who love them.
All dogs on the property live in the family homes, and are very much integral members of family life. Home life and busines activities go on simultaneously on the property giving the dogs the opportunity to mingle not only with family and friends, but with many business-related visitors who come to watch the standardbred colts training on a daily basis.
My primary goal is to breed Entlebuchers that are healthy and true to the Entle temperament and conformation. Beginning with my first breeding, I have chosen to breed a Canadian champion, Moratel Westriver Santé to an American Grand Champion, Jumanji v Brunswick.
My secondary goal, and of equal importance, is to select the best forever homes for Entles born at Riverwest.
I am a member in good standing with the CKC (Canadian Kennel Club); EB&F (Entlebucher Breeders and Friends) a newly established group of international Entlebucher breeders; and, the NEMDA (National Entlebucher Mountain Dog Association).
